Project Location :
The project is located at eco-tourism park at Gunung Tunak, Central Lombok District, West Nusa Tenggara Province, about 30 minutes driving from the Lombok International Airport.
Project Activities :
- Development of Master Plan of Tunak Ecotourism Park
- Construction of building facilities (Visitor Center, Multipurpose building, Guest Houses, Butterfly Learning Center), development of forest trail;
- Capacity building for local people and local Government as well as MoEF officials.
- Building facilities to support eco-tourism (visitor center, multi-purpose building, guest houses, reception building, butterfly learning center, forest trail, camping ground);
- Capacity building for local people (70%) and government officials (30%);
- Tunak Ecotourism Park is a model of forest recreation that is managed by local people.
Lessons learned :
The importance of the involvement of the local community for the success of forest recreation.
